MedScript Quick Reference Guide
Select MedScript Tab [Right hand taskbar].
Select Patient.
When MedScript opens click Cancel Button to select MedScript Settings from left hand taskbar
Medscript Settings.
This must be completed prior to prescribing any drug as it sets the printer and Prescriber details for the logged in User.
Top of screen selections are:
· Script paper
· Script printer
· MIMS Location
Bottom of screen
· Click Edit
· Personal settings
· Prescriber number
· MedScript Options
· Tick to Save
Click MedScript button [top Left hand taskbar] to prescribe.
Prescribing screen.
Default when opened is New Script.
· In Product Start typing name of Drug
· Clicking Down arrow will show selection
In Brand line double click the dose you wish to prescribe.
· This will auto populate the top section of screen
· You can select script instructions from the drop down list
Dosage and Admin instructions for this drug will appear below the Brand line.
Previously prescribed Drugs will appear at bottom of screen.
· Tick to save Script
Drug Interactions Warning.
If the drug being prescribed is interacting with any other drug previously prescribed for the patient an Interactions warning appears to screen.
To proceed Click Button ‘Proceed with Script’ if warnings are not needed.
Script Selected can now be printed.
· Click Print
·
Right mouse click on any drug in the list will
allow you to re-prescribe that drug.
Authority Drug Prescription.
· Drug prescribed is an Authority Drug.
· Brand line will have description and Type AUTH
· Script Type when selected will be RPBS Authority.
· Tick to save
If Interaction warning screen appears then Click Proceed with Script to prescribe this product.
Click Authority button at top of screen.

· Select Script type: Authority.

Enter Approval number.
- Tick to save.
Close Authority screen
Click Print to Print script
