Before you can bill health funds for your inpatient medical claims (IMC) in Impulse, you first need to ensure that you have the health funds setup against your hospital locations.
Setting up your fund arrangements are typically completed during the setup of your Impulse database, but there may be occasions where new health funds enter the market, your details change, or a new provider or location is added to Impulse.
Below is the step by step instructions for adding a fund arrangement to Impulse. If you prefer, you can watch the video and follow the steps.
Instructions
From the main screen of Impulse, choose SETUP from the top main menu
Choose PROVIDER LOCATIONS from the menu list
In the new pop up screen, from the grid at the bottom, choose the correct provider and location combination for your inpatient services
Once selected (will be highlighted blue), click the FUND ARRANGEMENTS button in the middle of the screen
In the new pop up screen, click the plus (+) button
Choose the correct fund from the drop down
Enter your provider number in the Fund Payee ID (please note: for BUPA, please enter your practice ID as supplied by the health fund for your location)
Click either the AGREEMENT or SCHEME radio button (please note: the only health fund that requires SCHEME is Medibank Private)
Click the tick to save
Repeat steps 5 - 9 as needed
Click the CLOSE button to exit the setup
