Adding Patient Cards

Impulse allows you to store a patient's cards on their patient details screen. These cards include Medicare, DVA, Health Fund and Concession cards. 

Access Patient Details

Select The Patient. 
  1. Click Patient details on The main screen of Impulse and search the patient by entering Surname,First name or initial
  2. Click OK
In Patient Details Screen
  1. Click on the 1-Cards tab on the bottom taskbar.
  2. All cards attached to a Patient profile are displayed in the grid below the patient demographic details.

Add Medicare Card

  1. In the PATIENT DETAILS window, click the Add button [right hand side of bottom half of Patient details screen].
  2. Card Group: Screen opens by default to System cards
  3. Card ID Type: Select Medicare Card from the Card Type drop down field
  4. Card Number: Enter the card number
  5. Patient Number on Card: Enter Patient IRN [Individual Reference Number]
  6. Expiry Date: Enter the Expiry Date.
  7. Note: You will not be able to enter a Medicare card if the card date has expired.
  8. Click the OK button to save or Cancel to abort.

Add Veteran Affairs Card

  1. In the PATIENT DETAILS window, click the Add button  [right hand side of bottom half of Patient details screen].
  2. Card Group: Screen opens by default to System cards
  3. Card ID Type:Select Veteran Card from the Card Type drop down field
  4. Note: DVA Cards are 
    1. Veteran Affairs – All conditions [Gold Card Holders] 
    2. Veteran Affairs – Limited Conditions [Orange and white Card Holders]
  5. Card Number: Enter the card number
  6. Patient Number on Card: Patient IRN [Individual Reference Number]
  7. Expiry Date: The expiry date
  8. Entitlement: Select Gold , White or Orange.
  9. You will not be able to enter a Veteran card if the card date has expired.
  10. Click the OK button to save or Cancel to abort.

Add Health Fund Card

  1. In the PATIENT DETAILS window, click the Add button [right hand side of bottom half of Patient details screen].
  2. Card Group: Select Health Fund
  3. Card ID Type: Select Health fund card Card from the Card Type drop down field
  4. Card Number: Enter the card number
  5. Patient Number on Card: Enter Patient IRN [Individual Reference Number this is usually the same as the Medicare card] 
  6. Expiry Date: NOT NEEDED FOR HEALTH FUND CARDS.
  7. If the Patient is Known by a Different Name by the Health fund to that on their Medicare Card please enter Alias Surname and Name
  8. Click the OK button to save or Cancel to abort.

Edit an Existing card

  1. In the PATIENT DETAILS window, click on the row in the Cards grid that displays the card you wish to edit.
  2. Click the Edit button [right hand side of bottom half of Patient details screen].
  3. Make the required changes
  4. To save click OK or Cancel to abort
