Create Appointment Treatment Types

This is the first stage of customising your Appointment Book. The treatments define the look of the appointment book at a glance. 

Accessing Treatment Types

Access is Via the Appointment Book tab on the main screen of Impulse. When this opens treatments are on the right hand side task-bar.
  1. Each Treatment type must have a unique Short description
  2. A Long description can be set in the Description field to identify Multi Surgical procedure on the theatre list
  3. A duration is set against the treatment. This time frame is allocated in the appointment book.
  4. Treatments can be colour coded for easy identification in the appointment book 
  5. Treatment types such as 'New Patient', 'Existing Patient', 'Followup Consult' etc an be used to define  Patient Status. 
  6. Staff Refreshment breaks 'Tea Breaks' and 'Lunch Breaks' should be entered so that these breaks can be set in the appointment schedule
    1. it is advisable to create these in the same duration as the default treatment or multiples of this treatment eg:if Standard treatment time is 15 mins, then create this in 15 mins or multiple of 15 mins 
  7. Surgical procedures can be set up so that they can be identified where theatre bookings and a threatre list needs to be generated
  8. Customised user forms can be set up In Impulse and attached to a treatment type and these will pop up when an appointment is made for this type of treatment
  9. A reminder letter can be set against a treatment
  10. The Type of treatment identifies whether it is a standard treatment, Surgery Full Stay or Day surgery

Add A Treatment

  1. Click + to Add
  2. Enter a Short Description eg: Consult
  3. Enter a Standard Duration: eg 15 mins
  4. Click Treatment Colour to select to colour code the treatment
  5. Enter Description : this can be the same as short description except for Multi- Surgical procedures
  6. Multi-Surgical procedures require the Description if needed for a Threatre List to be entered as eg:32090-Colonoscopy, 32029-Colonic reservoir,32093 Fibreoptic colonscopy 
  7. Select Type: Standard for Appointment other than Surgical Procedures where a Threatre List is required
  8. Tick to Save
