Medicare MBS, DVA and Health fund fees and Descriptions Update.

All Clients are sent email notification when a new item update is released by Medicare and DVA.
Details on how to update items is put on the support knowledge base  https://support.mednet.com.au/portal/kb/articles/updating-items
  1. The Medicare item update must be run prior to Running the health fund updates.
  2. The MBS and DVA updates include update to item fees, Description, RMFS in hospital and RMFS out of Hospital fees, DVA Allied Health fees.
  3. Reason codes are updated when new reason codes are released by Medicare.
Clients can also enter details in Impulse themselves.

Steps to Update Items In Impulse
On the main screen of Impulse bottom tabs Select ‘MedComms’.
When started, if new versions are available, click YES to download.
MedComms will shut down and re-open again.
  1. Select Updates
  2. Select Item update. 
  3. Do Not Stop the process as Items, Descriptions etc are updating and being populated in Impulse.
  4. Message will come to screen when complete.
Manual Update of MBS Fees.
  1. Download a fee schedule from Medicare or View Item updates in the knowledge base for update required.
In Impulse
Select Admin\Item Maintenance
  1. Select Fee Types Button
  2. Select MS
  3. Click Edit
  4. Change Class to private
  5. Control manual
  6. Click OK
  7. Close Fee Types window.

Click Search
Enter item code to update
  1. Click Item pricing
  2. Select MS
  3. Click Edit
  4. Click Edit
  5. Put an end date in the old fee.
  6. Click Plus
  7. Enter New fee without $ sign
  8. Select Start date
  9. Tick to save
Repeat this process for all items you wish to update.
When you close the Item maintenance screen Fee Types will revert and all Medicare rules then apply.
