Online Patient Verification: PVF, Fund Only and OPV, Medicare and Health Fund

Online Patient Verification [PVF] provides the facility to verify, prior to claim submission, the:
  1. patient is known to the Health Fund 
  2. patient holds a "hospital level" of cover
Online Patient Verification [OPV] provides the facility to verify, prior to claim submission, that the:
  1. patient is eligible for claiming Medicare benefits 
  2. patient is known to the Health Fund 
  3. patient holds a "hospital level" of cover 
Medicare cards are card group  System in Impulse.
Health Fund Cards are card group  Health Fund in Impulse. 
Both a Medicare card and Health fund Card are required.

Add Medicare and Health Fund cards
  1. Select tab 1 Cards in Patient Details.
  2. Select the Add button to open the Patient Card window.
  3. Click Add
  4. Select the card group the card belongs to.
  5. Select the Card ID Type you will be adding.
  6. Enter Card Number, IRN and expiry date for Medicare Cards and Save.
  7. Click add again
  8. Enter Card Number, IRN [ Optional] for Health Fund Cards.
  9. Enter Alias First name and surname in known to Health Fund by a Different name to Name listed in Patient details.
  10. Tick to save.
OPV
  1. Select The tab OPV
  2. Enter earliest date of service.
  3. Click OK
  4. Eligibility will show on screen.
  5. Where the Medicare card has an Updated card number please repeat PVM and Patient Medicare card details will be updated.
PVF
  1. Select The tab OPV
  2. Enter earliest date of service.
  3. Click OK
  4. Eligibility will show on screen.
