Online Patient Verification PVM and PV CE

Adding and verifying Medicare Cards.

Medicare cards are System cards in Impulse.
The following details are required In Patient details to Bill Medicare.
For Patient Identification, the following data is required:
  1. Patient's Medicare Card Number  
  2. Patient's last name [Surname] 
  3. Patient's first name [Given Name] 
  4. IRN, [Patient Reference Number] 
  5. Patient date of birth. 
Medicare System cards Are
  1. Medicare Card
  2. Health Care Card
  3. PBS Entitlement
  4. Pensioner or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  5. Safety Net
  6. Social Security
  7. Other
  8. Veteran Affairs - All Conditions [Gold card]
  9. Veteran Affairs - LIMITED Conditions [White Card]
To Add a card
  1. Select tab 1 Cards in Patient Details.
  2. Select the Add button to open the Patient Card window.
  3. Click Add
  4. Select the card group the card belongs to e.g. System.
  5. Select the Card ID Type you will be adding e.g. Medicare.
The required data fields for the card type will then be displayed.
Medicare card those fields are:
  1. The Medicare Card number
  2. The Patient IRN [individual Reference number].
  3. The Expiry date.
  4. Tick to save
You will not be able to save a Medicare card that is not a valid Medicare card number.
PVM- Medicare Card Only
  1. Select The tab PVM
  2. Enter earliest date of service
  3. Click OK
  4. Eligibility will show on screen.
  5. Where the Medicare card has an Updated card number, please repeat PVM and Patient Medicare card details will be updated.

PV CE- Concession Entitlement Verification
  1. Select tab 1 Cards in Patient Details.
  2. Select the Add button to open the Patient Card window.
  3. Click Add
  4. Select the card group the card belongs to e.g. System.
  5. Select the Card ID Type you will be adding e.g. Select One of the Pensioner or Concession cards
  6. Enter Card Number and expiry date.
  7. Select card entitlement for pension
  8. Tick to save.
  9. Select The tab PV CE
  10. Enter earliest date of service.
  11. Click OK
  12. Eligibility will show on screen.
  13. Where the Medicare card has an Updated card number please repeat PVM and Patient Medicare card details will be updated.
